3 Day Instrument Refresher Course

 

This course is designed as a complete refresher for you and your airplane and will also count as your flight review.  Since we need to climb to 10,000 feet to start instrument approaches in the Mission Valley we recommend day one in Polson, MT, on day two we fly to Great Falls, MT for approaches and spend the night, Day three fly approaches in the Great Falls, area and return to Polson.

All courses are tailor made to fit your needs and goals.
We have listed two typical three day course below:

Plan 1 – Complete Flight Review and PIC

Day One: 
8:00 AM – Ground brief on basic maneuvers – slow flight, power on and off stalls, steep turns,        patterns, take off’s and landings, aircraft systems, and emergencies.
9:00 AM – Flight one 1.5 hour flight doing above maneuvers and patterns.
11:00 AM – Debrief flight one
11:30 AM – Lunch
12:30 PM – Ground brief, holding, intercepts, tracking, VOR, ILS,GPS approaches.
1:00 PM – 2.5 hour simulator on above maneuvers.
4:00 PM – Fill out paper work for the day.

Day Two: 
8:00 AM – Ground brief and x country planning to Great Falls.
9:00 AM – Take off flight two 2.0 hours – X country to Great Falls for instrument approaches in Great Falls.
11:30 AM – Debrief flight two.
12:00 PM – Brief flight three instrument approaches. (If student would like to fly at night flight three will be that evening)
13:00 PM – Flight three instrument approaches 1.5 hours.
15:00 PM – Debrief flight three
15:30 PM – Paper work for day two.

Day Three:  
8:00 AM – Ground brief flight four maneuvers and instrument approaches.
9:00 AM – Flight four 2.0 hours (Areas that need work or student’s desires)
11:30 AM – Debrief Flight four
12:00 PM – Lunch
13:00 PM – Brief Flight five approaches, maneuvers, return cross country to Polson.
13:30 PM – Flight five 2.0 hours, final areas student would like to work on.
15:30 PM – Debrief flight five
16:00 PM – Paper work day three.

Completion of this course will count as your flight review.

Plan 2 – IPC Only

Day One: 
8:00 AM – Ground brief on holding, intercepts, tracking, VOR, ILS,GPS approaches.
9:00 AM – 2.5 hour simulator on above maneuvers.
11:30 AM – Debrief simulator event.
12:00 AM – Lunch
1:00 PM – Ground brief, holding, intercepts, tracking, VOR, ILS,GPS approaches.
2:00 PM – Flight one, 1.5 hour flight  on above maneuvers.
4:00 PM – Fill out paper work for the day.

Day Two: 
8:00 AM – Ground brief and x country planning to Great Falls.
9:00 AM – Take off flight two 2.0 hours – X country to Great Falls for instrument approaches in Great Falls.
11:30 AM – Debrief flight two.
12:00 PM – Brief flight three instrument approaches. (If student would like to fly at night, flight three will be that evening)
13:00 PM – Flight three instrument approaches 1.5 hours.
15:00 PM – Debrief flight three
15:30 PM – Paper work for day two.

Day Three:  
8:00 AM – Ground brief flight four instrument approaches, emergency procedures.
9:00 AM – Flight four 2.0 hours (Areas that need work or student’s desires)
11:30 AM – Debrief Flight four
12:00 PM – Lunch
13:00 PM – Brief Flight five approaches, return cross country to Polson.
13:30 PM – Flight five 2.0 hours, final areas student would like to work on.
15:30 PM – Debrief flight five
16:00 PM – Paper work day three.

Some insurance companies may give a discount on your rate for completion of this course.

This is a fun packed course to make you a better pilot. Expect about eight hours of preparation time on your own going over our study guide prior to the start of the course.

Costs:
Three day course in Polson, Mt/Great Falls; in your aircraft, $1650.00. You provide your own lodging.
Three day course at your airport including simulator training, $4450.00. We bring the simulator and take care of our own lodging.
Three day course at your airport, no simulator training, we will add one more flight, 3750.00. We provide our own lodging.

If you need to rent our aircraft our C-182 with a Garmin 750 rents for $200.00 per hour.  Plan on 7 to 10 flying hours, based on your needs and desires.

Payment:
We accept Paypal or personal Checks. Call us to set up your training dates.
A $1000.00 deposit is required for registration of the course.
Sixty days prior to your course start date the balance of your course payment is due.
You can always pay the entire course fee at registration.

Cancellations:
If you cancel before ninety (90) days prior to the beginning of the training, a full refund (minus a $1000.00 reservation fee) will be made.
If you cancel before thirty (30) days prior to the beginning of the training, a full refund (minus a $1500.00 reservation fee) will be made.
If you cancel within thirty (30) days prior to the beginning of the training, a full refund (minus a $2000.00 reservation fee) will be made.
